Art Deco Oak Bureau, Early 20th Century

This is a beautifully made Art Deco Oak Bureau. It has a neat and compact feel to it in design, but thoughtfully crafted.

The Piece was sold by a store in Hastings, Bryant & Sons, open from 1907- 1969, so lovely it is another piece that stayed in our town since purchase.

The Bureau has considered quality in its craftmanship from the curved joints to the way the drop-down leaf of the desk nestles under the organizing compartment to take the weight/ pressure of writing. It has good storage, with the organizer compartment, drawer and two door cupboards at the bottom, all of which sits on Carved feet. Its hardware is all solid metal from the handles to the roller ball closures. The oak has a warm patina and varied grain in each panel.

H – 105.5cm W – 61cm D – 37cm

Fold down desk area W – 56cm, D – 32.5cm.

Drawer has a depth of 10cm, and the cupboard is 31.5 cm in Height.
