Crafted in oak veneer on a pine frame with a recessed plinth base, it has two separate compartments on either side of a central wooden divider. It has four adjustable softwood shelves, which make it a versatile storage option for books or display items, and four sliding glass doors with simple integral recessed pulls.

Similar cabinets were often made by UK makers such as Herbert Gibbs, Jentique or William Lawrence, but there are no maker’s marks on this piece.

Condition: This piece is in fair condition for its age and has undergone some repairs: Both sides of the unit have been glued back onto the pine frame, and on its front, both the central pillar and vertical section of the base plinth have been sanded back and finished with beeswax. Photos have been taken of these areas.
